About Us

VIMUKTHI AIDS TADAGATTUVA MAHILA SANGHA

Readdressing the rural sex workers problem by the Police, pimps, Agent, and their own family in Karnataka

Vimukthi Aids Thadegattuva Mahila Sangha is the FSW-CBO in Bellary registered under Karnataka Societies Registration Act1960 on 01-04-1999 vide its registration number 159/99.The CBO strengthened with the support of KHPT by undergoing various trainings and handholding process. With the financial and technical support of the KHPT they have implemented Samastha project during 2007 to 2011. In the implementation process they formed the support groups of the community at gross root level across the district.

Our Programs

Program Text

LINK WORKER PROGRAM

We mobilize High Risk Groups, Out going Migrants, Truckers, PLHIV, ANC, T.B Cases and other vulnerable people in 100 villages of Ballari district and provide awareness and link them to services, test-Information centers, condom out let box and identify volunteers.

MIGRANT PROGRAM

We work with Migrant laborers from factories and other work places to create awareness about HIV infection, Safe sexual practices, HIV/STI Testing and provide access to condoms.

VIHAAN PROJECT

We work closely with people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV) and link them to Government schemes and entitlements and enroll them to ART Centres, especially those who are irregular in their medications( LFUs). We currently implement this program in 4 Taluks of Bellary district.
